TREKKING IN NEPAL |
Since early times, Nepal has the reputation of
being a remote and magical mountain Kingdom.
Although no longer so remote. Nepal's natural
beauty continues to attract travelers from all
over the world, who come to experience the
Nepal's uniqueness as trekking destination.
The prime attraction is the Himalayan ranges. An
ancient Sanskrit proverb states "A hundred
divine epochs would not be sufficient to
describe all the Himalayas!" Of the 14 peaks in
the world above 8000 meters, 8 are in Nepal and
beneath the backdrop of these majestic peaks lie
Nepal's hill countries, where most of the major
trekking routes are located. There is the
cultural scenery that represents the many ethnic
groups in these trekking routes . Also there is
the fact that the natural beauty is still
untouched by modern civilization. Although the
himalayas are still isolated from the few roads
that Nepal has, trekking in Nepal has further
more increased its popularity.
During the busy months of September to November
and February to April, the popular trek routes
in Nepal, particularly the Annapurnma sanctuary,
Annapurna circuit and the Everest base camp
areas, attract the majority of the trekkers.
Access to these area are well possible . There
are fine tea houses offering good eating and
sleeping support to the backpackers. We as
experiened trekking agents in kathmandu we have
gone further and explored new terrain such as
the foothills of Jungle, Ganesh and Lamjung
Himal. These entire untouched areas offer
equally rewarding trekking with few other
trekkers and delightful villages and people in a
spectacular environment.
For those seeking greater challenges, the
recently opened Kanchenjunga in east Nepal the
Manaslu and Dhaulagiri himals in central and
Dolpo in the far west may be of interest.
Similarly Sherpa supported"peak climbing" such
as Mera Peak (6461),using a rarely approached
route and Island Peak (6189) lying below the
flanks of the massive south wall of Lhotse, are
among the favorites.
In the section below you will find detailed
information as the different areas where we
operate our treks, peak climbing and
expeditions. The treks, as described are only
suggested itineraries and may be considerably
modified to suit your personal requirements. |

ORGANISING YOUR TREK |
Tea-House Treks:
The most popular way of experiencing classic
treks of Nepal is by using local inns for
accommodation. Decent hotel accommodation for
trekkers is most readily available in the
Annapurna, Langtang and Everest Region. In these
areas you can operate with a bare minimum of
equipment and rely on lodges for food and
shelter. Though bedding is available in the
lodges as a cotton-filled quilt that may not
sufficiently incubate you. So it is always
better to carry your own sleeping bags.
Camping Treks:
The classic style of trekking in Nepal is to
camp in tents and employ porters to carry your
gears and Sherpas to set up camp, cook and serve
meals. You carry a backpack with only a water
bottle, camera and jacket. In the camping treks
there are numerous hidden expenses that drive up
the rice depending on the destination, mode of
transportation and size of the group. Because of
the food is carried by the porters, a variety of
meals is possible. On camping trek you sleep in
a tent so our itinerary should not rely on
village settlements. And so we can comfortably
trek to remote regions and to high altitudes. |
